Rescue Earth Initiatives
Rescue Earth System
The Regenerative Restoration Initiatives of the Rescue Earth System are geared to sequestrate carbon and reduce CO2e in the atmosphere, restore ecosystem function, rehydrate landscapes, etc.
Rescue Earth Initiatives
Regenerative Ecosystem Restoration
Although the Rescue Earth System has many initiatives, it does not have any projects of its own. It is a meta organisation of many independent causes (organisations) that do have projects. Many causes and their projects will soon be listed in the Rescue Earth Sustainability Credit Exchange.

Regenerative Restoration Initiatives
The focus of the Rescue Earth System is more about ecosystem restoration, the rehydration of landscapes, and the efficient production of nutritious food than climate change. The reason is simple. If we regeneratively restore the soil fertility of pastures and agricultural land by increasing hydration and soil organic matter, and increase living biomass by restoring ecosystems, we sequestrate carbon and reduce CO2e in the atmosphere — and we stabilise weather — resulting in more consistent rain with less flooding, etc.
Carbon & Climate
Reducing Green House Gases (GHG)s in the atmosphere is essential to any climate strategy to Rescue Earth. The initiatives listed below are those that offer the best ability to cost effectively sequestrate GHGs, especially CO2, from the atmosphere and store it long-term with minimal risk of failure.
- GIS Carbon Mapping
- Reforestation & Trees
- Ecosystem Restoration
- Regenerative Grazing Management
- Diverse Cover Crops
- Infiltration Swale Systems
- CCHP Activated Biochar
- Bio-Active Compost
Farming & Food
One of the best ways to sequestrate CO2e is by using regenerative farming principles to produce nutrient dense food.
- Community Food Gardens
- Regenerative Food System
- Reforestation & Trees
- Diverse Cover Crops
- Regenerative Grazing Management
- Keyline Water Management
- Infiltration Swale Systems
- CCHP Activated Biochar
- Wood Chippers & Shredders
- Bio-Active Compost
Nature & Wildlife
Regenerative restoration of landscapes is essential if we want to Rescue Earth from ecosystem collapse and allow wildlife to flourish again.
- Ecosystem Restoration
- Reforestation & Trees
- Diverse Cover Crops
- Infiltration Swale Systems
- Regenerative Grazing Management
- Leaky Check Dam Systems
- Bioremediation Systems
- Permascapes
People & Places
Ultimately, people benefit from all the initiatives. Those listed below are those that are more sociocentric solutions to predominantly urban challenges.
- Community Co-operatives
- Public Places / Placemaking
- Permascapes
- Walking & Cycling Paths
- Reforestation & Trees
- Rain Garden LID Systems
- Leaky Check Dam Systems
- Wood Chippers & Shredders
- Bio-Active Compost
Water & Weather
Water and weather are connected — weather makes water (rain) and (rain) water makes weather — and both affect climate in more ways than most could imagine! Restoring the Small Water Cycle through rehydrating and restoring the ecological functions of landscapes is one of the most important solutions to weather related issues of climate change. Restoring the Small Water Cycle also increases carbon sequestration, breaking the climb in GHGs that are causing long-term climate change.
Volunteerism
Developing a culture of volunteerism is a core objective of the Rescue Earth System. It is not the contribution of any one individual, but the collective efforts of the whole, that will define our success in saving Earth from Ecosystem Collapse.
