Permablitz System
Rescue Earth System
A Permablitz is a rapid makeover / restoration of a property to be more regenerative, resilient and sustainable using permaculture as a guide. The term Permablitz is a contraction of permaculture and blitz, where a blitz simply means a focused effort to get something done quickly!
Permablitz System
Facilitating Community Permaculture
Permaculture is an approach to land management and settlement design that adopts arrangements observed in flourishing natural ecosystems. It includes a set of design principles derived using whole-systems thinking.
What is a Permablitz? A Permablitz is a rapid makeover / restoration of a property to be more regenerative, resilient and sustainable using permaculture as a guide. The term permablitz is a contraction of permaculture and blitz, where a blitz simply means a focused effort to get something done quickly!
To be defined as a permablitz each project must be underpinned by a permaculture design done by someone with a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) –- the most basic permaculture qualification. Permablitz projects are predominantly in more urban / peri-urban landscapes.
The BZ token — Blitz token
BZ tokens are used by the Permablitz System for Permablitz participants to exchange / swap time. 1 BZ equals 1 minute of participant time. 2 BZ equals 1 minute of specialist time and 3 BZ equals 1 minute of a certified Permaculture Designers time. A specialist is for example, a plumber, an electrician, a carpenter, etc.

Most permablitz networks run on reciprocity, and in order to qualify for a permablitz you usually need to volunteer at other permablitzes first, although there may be other ways of qualifying.
The RegenCAN micro BLITZ Time Exchange
Grounded on the principles of the Permablitz model, the micro BLITZ Time Exchange is essentially a traditional time exchange on steroids. Basically, members ‘pay’ each other 1 mBZ token for every 1 minute they work for each other.
However, because the micro BLITZ System actively facilitates member interaction, the micro BLITZ Time Exchange is way more effective than a traditional time exchange. Members exchange mBZ tokens on their local RegenCAN Exchange.
A micro BLITZ is a small Permablitz that is focussed on a particular task. One can say that a micro BLITZ is similar to a ‘component’ or ‘task’ of a traditional Permablitz. Also, although it is recommended, a micro BLITZ does not need to be based on a Permaculture design or have the participation of a certified Permaculture designer.
The micro BLITZ Time Exchange is a community based time banking initiative. Members exchange time and skills (work) with each other and earn ‘time credits’ in return. mBZ tokens are used.
